Once a month the School of Italian Plasters will showcase a new Venetian Plaster applicator.
This month we will focus on James and Shayna Kirkpatrick of Venetian Inspirations.
Introducing James & Shayna Kirkpatrick, Instructors for the School of Italian Plasters Atlanta location. They are Graduates of the Decoration Academies in Atlanta and Verona and are Certified Master Instructors and Artisans. Being personally trained by Doyle and Linda Self in the studio and on the job, they became the team that filled the new position to Direct the Atlanta School and to instruct new students.
Developing her career in decorative painting with Disney's MGM Studios and The Magic Kingdom, Shayna's work eventually lead her to faux homes in the exclusive communities surrounding the Orlando, Florida area. She met James, who has a background in Sales and Management, when he was setting up Airline Security Companies for American Airlines in Texas and California. Shayna's accomplishments include the prestigious "Shirley Wiseman Lach Award for Exceptional Promise" through the National Home Builders Association of America. They formed their new company Fauxscape, Inc. after moving to Atlanta in 2002.
James, taking his experience in importing marble from Verona, Italy with Verona Marble Company and representing Unique Flooring Distributors as an Architectural Representative, he and Shayna took over the daily operations of the Atlanta School of Italian Plasters late 2005 as Doyle and Linda completed the expansion of their San Diego location.
Shayna recently completed a 2300 square foot Fresco job through Artisans Consortium International with Joseph Bronzino and Leslie Salka of ACI. James and Shayna now serve half the country, shipping Safra plasters, instructing full time and applying Safra's High Decoration Line of Plasters, ArteNova.
